About Beggs Fat Bottom Farm
A Unique Beef Shop
Beggs Fat Bottom Farm is a third generation working farm established in 1931 as a dairy farm in Leyden, Wisc. The “Fat Bottom” name was inspired by the CCC program in the 1930s which helped conserve and transform the land into the pasture we see today.
With the cultivated farmland, following in the footsteps of my father and his father, I chose to stay in the cattle sector. Growing up helping with the farm I knew this is where my passion lies wanting to take care of the farm nurturing the land and animals. With my dedication to the farm I decided to follow my passion to raise angus cattle.
Which is when in 2010, the farm was re-established as a premium purebred angus herd farm. After much research and working with strategic partners, I consulted with the University of Wisconsin - Madison to enrich the meat animal traits and qualities, using genetic findings to make choices based on herd health to insure wellness. I have nurtured a positive environment for my animals.
Traditions of farming run deep into how I raised the animals and my strong desire to work hard. This rich pastoral background led me to have these very simple core values. To this day, BFBF continuously upholds the importance of traditional values through our beliefs in nurturing a positive healthy environment for our land and raising high quality Black Angus Cattle. Our passion and goal is to consistently provide the utmost high quality fresh cut angus beef.
